About

Robert Nazeby Herzig is a British/Italian artist based in Milano, London and Tokyo. After attending the Comics School of Milano and getting a degree in Architecture, he started working as comic and commercial illustration artist for some of the major Italian publishers and advertising agencies, including two years working as animation director in TV and Internet Production Company based in Milano.
In the meantime he carried on his comics artist career, landing a deal with American publisher NBM to illustrate “Angelskin” (2007), a graphic novel which allowed him continuous experimentation in order to better portray in an extremely expressionist manner the bleak atmosphere and mood described in the story .
Moreover in late 2008, thanks to the interest of some art promoters and consequent participation in various group exhibitions, he decided to take his experience to fine art, with an ongoing study to capture the essence of movement and sensuality through gesture, shape and most of all, lines, using similar concepts applied on different techniques, both traditional and digital, and at the same time maintaining an overall sense of melancholy throughout his works.

In October 2009 he made his international debut with the "Urgency of Love" solo show at the Art Data Bank Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo.

He makes records, sometimes.
He plays concerts, sometimes.
He wears black, enjoys taking cookery lessons and watching sitcoms.
